OUR CHURCH HISTORY
Living Word International Christian Church (LWICC) is a multi-ethnic, Intergenerational, interdenominational church located in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Established in 1982 and incorporated in 1985, the church is a large, diverse congregation focused on fulfilling its mission of being an Apostolic Center in the North-East region of the United States.
Living Word International Christian Church was founded in 1982, rooted in the belief that Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, is our only hope for Salvation. The church was formally incorporated on October 30, 1985, in Montgomery County, Maryland, as a non-denominational, Christ-loving church.
In December 2018 the Lead Pastor Michael McDermott and LWICC Board of Trustees provided a separate service for the Deaf people by using American Sign Language (ASL).
LW - Deaf Ministry started our first ASL service on Jan 27, 2019.
OUR BELIEFS
- We believe in God, the Father, the Almighty, the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
- We believe in the eternal deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His sinless life, in His substitutionary death on Calvary for our sins, in His triumphant bodily resurrection from the grave, in His exaltation as Lord of all, and in His indwelling victorious life within His Body, the Church.
- We believe that all are lost apart from the saving grace of Jesus Christ and that salvation is by faith alone through the shed blood and regenerating Spirit of Jesus Christ.
- We believe that the true Church is composed of all those who have been born again through Him.
- We believe the Bible to be the verbally inspired and infallible Word of God to all mankind, the rule (canon) of all our faith and moral conduct.
- We believe in the present fullness and operation of the Holy Spirit in the lives of men and women, whose workings are the source of all holiness and grace and the mainspring of all gifts and ministry, and by whom the Father is presently and finally restoring and renewing the Body of Christ in all the earth.
- We believe in carrying out the Great Commission of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ to evangelize the lost and to lift the burden from the poor, the afflicted, and the needy.
- We believe in the personal and literal return of our Lord Jesus Christ and in the triumph of His universal and everlasting kingdom—world without end!
